McDonald’s Secret Menu: Unofficial Menu Items

If there’s anything familiar that anybody in the world goes back to over and over again, it’s got to be McDonald’s. But what happens when you get tired of the same old McNuggets and fries? Customers all over the world have joined to develop the McDonald’s secret menu, and we’ve got an inside look at everything you can order right now.

McDonald’s Secret Menu Items

Out of the list of secret menu items, you’ll recognize quite a few. The menu was born from twisting and tweaking the original menu into new (and quite possibly shocking) dishes. Who knows, your new favorite meal may be on here! Here are McDonalds secret menu items certified to blow you away:

McKinley Mac

The Big Mac could prove to be overwhelming for some people. For others however, two regular beef patties just won’t cut it. For those who feel this way, the McKinley Mac is the solution to their burger problems. Imagine your usual Big Mac with Quarter Pounder patties instead of your usual regular patty!

Grilled Cheese

Grilled cheese at McDonald’s? You bet.

It’s surprisingly easy to order a grilled cheese from McDonald’s – or any fast food chain for that matter, and once we let you in on the secret, you’ll wonder why you never thought of it before. Any restaurant that has bread and cheese slices in its kitchen can whip up a grilled cheese. At McDonald’s, you can get yours on a hamburger bun with the same American cheese that goes on every burger and sandwich on the menu.

How To Order the McDonald’s Grilled Cheese

Ordering one is easy peasy. Just ask for a hamburger without the burger patty. It’s up to you whether you want any toppings on your burger-turned-grilled-cheese, so be sure to specify if you want the onions, pickles, ketchup, and mustard that normally comes on a burger from Mickey D’s.

Oh, and one more thing – you know how the cheese isn’t always fully melted when you unwrap your hamburger? To avoid getting a cold piece of American cheese on a lukewarm bun, be sure to ask for a toasted bun to ensure the cheese gets nice and gooey.

McDonald’s Grilled Cheese Price

Prices will vary a lot by location, but grilled cheese off the McDonald’s secret menu will usually cost you 99 cents. Look at you ordering off the “dollar menu.”

Chicken McGriddle

If you lookup “McDonald’s Chicken McGriddle,” a blank photo pops up. (Exhibit A) Why? Well, that’s the restaurant’s way of saying it’s a thing of the past. The Chicken McGriddle used to be on the McDonald’s menu until it was discontinued years ago, but you may recognize it from a more recent advertisement. The McGriddle you may have seen looked an awful lot like the McChicken Biscuit – a chicken patty in between two signature griddle cakes.

How To Order the Secret Menu Chicken McGriddle

The Chicken McGriddle is just a combination of a McGriddle (duh) and a McChicken. Creative right? A McGriddle is a breakfast sandwich with fluffy egg, cheese, and your choice of meat in between two griddle cake buns. And of course, the McChicken is a fried chicken sandwich with mayo and lettuce on a bun. When you combine the two, you get the same folded egg, cheese, choice of meat, and griddle cake buns with a McChicken patty smacked right in the middle of all of it.

McDonald’s Grilled Cheese Price

You will pay whatever they charge for McGriddle, and a McChicken.

Big McChicken

If you don’t have any issue with the beef patties on your Big Mac but are itching to replace those buns with something yummier and meatier, the Big McChicken was created for you. Imagine getting three McChicken sandwiches, taking those chicken patties out, and using them instead of your regular buns. This creation is definitely meaty heaven!

Monster Mac

McDonalds secret menu

Think the McKinley Mac still couldn’t give you the heart attack you’re looking for? Try the Monster Mac, one of the heaviest items in the McDonalds secret menu, and see if you can handle it. Oozing with that special sauce and cheese plus a mix of lettuce, onions and pickles are eight beef patties on top of each other between the usual burger buns. If you feel like that extra piece of bread on the middle of the Big Mac is still a must, you could always ask for it to be included to your burger.

McGangBang

While we’re still on the amazing thought of how mixing chicken and beef in a burger actually turns out great, the McGangBang proves to be an awesome example of this combination. Imagine mixing a Double Cheeseburger and a McChicken burger. Once again, that mix of beef and chicken patties combined with lettuce and mayo turns out to be one tasteful favorite on the McDonalds secret menu.

Egg Burger

You’ve probably seen a burger with an egg on it at places like Ruth’s Chris or – you know, fancy places. But what about McDonald’s? With the McDonald’s Secret Menu, ordering anything is possible, from grilled cheese to pie McFlurries to egg-topped burgers.

The biggest perk of the Egg Burger is that no matter which McDonald’s you order it at, you should have no problems having your order fulfilled because you’re just customizing an already-existing burger with an ingredient that all locations already have on hand. If you’re familiar with the world of secret menus, this isn’t always the case. Sometimes an ingredient is only available at certain locations or is came with limited-time offer and is no longer used to make anything on the menu.

How to order the Egg Burger

You can turn any burger on the menu into the Egg Burger. Even a Big Mac. So don’t be shy and think you have to ask for a regular ole burger.

Second, McDonald’s serves multiple kinds of eggs, including:

  • Round eggs (what’s found on the Egg McMuffin)
  • Folded eggs (what’s found of the Sausage Biscuit with egg)
  • Scrambled eggs
  • Scrambled egg whites

This means you can further customize your burger with the kind of eggs that come on top of it. If you haven’t figured it out by now, all you have to do to order this secret menu item is decide what kind of burger you want, which type of eggs you’d like, and voila! Just say the word, and your request will be granted.

Egg Burger Price

The different types of eggs served at McDonald’s come at various costs, including (prices will be different at your exact location – this is just an example)

  • $1.19 for Round Egg
  • $1.59 for Folded Eggs
  • $1.59 for Scrambled Egg
  • $1.59 for Egg Whites

Add a price to your burger, and voila you know the price of your Egg Burger.

McBrunch Burger

Sometimes people mix up the Egg Burger with another popular McDonald’s secret menu item, the McBrunch Burger. It’s essentially the exact same thing as the Egg Burger, but with a hash brown in between the buns. Typically, the McBrunch Burger comes on a single or double cheeseburger with a round or folded egg on, and of course – a hash brown. If the Egg Burger sounds good, but you’re super hungry, the McBrunch Burger is the way to go.

Land, Sea and Air Burger

Land, Sea and Air BurgerIf you still aren’t contented with that chicken and beef combination, then maybe it’s time to add something else to the mix. Get a protein overdose by taking your regular Big Mac and adding a McChicken patty and a Filet-o-Fish patty in it. A McDonalds secret menu item for those who can’t decide what to get, this creation combines three different animals in one big burger.

If you plan to order the Land, Sea, and Air Burger at McDonald’s, you better come hungry. It’s a monster of a burger/sandwich, so if you typically get full after one or two burgers, you’ll need to bring some backup to help you finish this thing off.

How To Order the Land, Sea, and Air Burger

Ordering the secret menu item can feel intimidating. What if the worker doesn’t know what it is? Fortunately, most McDonald’s workers are aware of what’s on the underground menu, so you can ask for the Land, Sea, and Air Burger by name without a problem. If they don’t know what it is, just explain that you want a Filet-O-Fish, two chicken patties, and two beef patties on a Big Mac or McDouble. If you get odd looks or a refusal, it may be time to take it upon yourself to create the majestic burger.

Just ask for the same ingredients we’ve listed above, all separate, and assemble the burger yourself. It may very well topple over before you get a chance to take a bite, but be sure to snap a photo for proof of its existence before you gobble it down.

Land, Sea, and Air Burger Price

Technically, you’re getting three menu items in one, so the price is going to be higher than your standard McChicken or Filet-O-Fish. However, the cost is still a steal for three sandwiches. Most locations will charge you around $5.49 if you order the burger on a McDouble and $8.49 for a Big Mac.

Poor Man’s Big Mac

Craving for a Big Mac but running low on funds? You can finally satisfy your craving with very little difference! You can get a Double Cheeseburger and ask for that special Big Mac sauce. Add some diced onions and lettuce and start enjoying a less expensive version of the Big Mac, using regular buns instead of that sesame seed bun.

Fries and Big Mac Special Sauce

One thing that makes the Big Mac special is the sauce that comes with it. Instead of the usual ketchup, try asking for Big Mac sauce and dip your fries into it. Now you’ll finally see what truly makes the Big Mac so addicting.

Mc10:35

If you’re looking for a little challenge on top of all the burger mixing and matching, try creating a Mc10:35. To taste this McDonalds secret menu entry, plan a trip to the nearest McDonald’s at that small timeframe when both the breakfast and the regular menus are available. Order a McDouble and an Egg McMuffin. Just add those beef patties and cheese into your Egg McMuffin and enjoy your own fast food version of brunch.

Chicken Cordon Bleu McMuffin

The secret menu dish is unsurprisingly delicious and combines two McDonald’s favorites – the McChicken and Egg McMuffin. And yes, it’s as good as it sounds.

How To Order the McDonald’s Chicken Cordon Bleu McMuffin

Fortunately, asking your local McDonald’s to whip up this specialty McMuffin is not all that hard. If you’ve ever tried to order something from a secret menu, you know that it can be quite complicated if the restaurant doesn’t have an ingredient in stock or if it’s a super complicated creation. To get your hands on the the Chicken Cordon Bleu McMuffin, you can ask for it by name. It’s one of the more popular items on the secret menu, so most McDonald’s employees will know what you’re talking about when you order it. If you come across someone who is familiar with it, just explain how to make one. The breakfast sandwich is just a regular Egg McMuffin with a McChicken or spicy McChicken patty on the inside.

If for some reason they refuse to make it, you can always order both menu items separately and assemble the sandwich yourself. No matter the route you take to get one, it’ll be worth it. To round out the meal, I always love pairing this one with a hash brown and a coffee, no matter what time of day it is.

If you’d like the sandwich to be more of a lunch creation, you can always ask for it on a hamburger bun instead of the English Muffin. Either way, I can guarantee it’ll taste better than the Chicken Cordon Bleu you’re used to.

Chicken Cordon Bleu McMuffin Price

As far as price, the McDonald’s Chicken Cordon Bleu McMuffin will cost around $4.69, but this can vary by location. Because this isn’t a regular menu item, the restaurant may choose to charge your for the Egg McMuffin ($2.79) and a McChicken ($1.29), which ends up being close in price either way.

Pie McFlurry

Did you know that you could actually get a pie and have it blended it into your McFlurry? Imagine two great desserts blended into one super treat. Sweet heaven!

Caramel Apple Sundae

The dessert was originally released back in the fall of 2011 but was discontinued for reasons beyond my understanding. However, avid Mickey D’s fans soon realized that they could still order the sundae even after it was pulled from the main menu, which is how it wound up on the secret menu. That’s because it’s ingredients are things that the fast food chain always has in stock – vanilla soft serve, apples, caramel, and peanuts. So, what’s the best way to ask for one at your local McDonald’s without getting weird looks?

How to order the Caramel Apple Sundae

This one’s easy. You can try to order the Caramel Apple Sundae by name, but the easiest way to ensure you get your hands on this secret menu item is to start off by ordering a regular Caramel Sundae with nuts. Then, ask if they will add apples on top. The sliced apples come as a Happy Meal side, so all locations will have them. If for some reason they won’t put them on the sundae for you, just order a side of them, get a knife, cut them in half, and throw them on top of your sundae.

Caramel Apple Sundae Price

McDonald’s prices vary around the country, but most locations will give you this sundae for around $1.99.

McCrepe

McDonalds secret menuThe McDonald’s McCrepe is a highly-sought-after dish available at select locations in France. In fact, it’s so popular that a variation of it was added to the secret menu so you can order it without dropping boo coo bucks on a plane ticket.

If you’ve ever had a crepe before, you may be a bit thrown off by what the secret menu considers to be the famous McDonald’s McCrepe. It’s not exactly created with a thin layer of dough and creamy filling, like the traditional French pastry is. Instead, it’s essentially a pancake folded in half with yogurt, granola, and even bacon in the middle. Sure, it’s not as fancy and definitely not authentic, but still pretty tasty if you’re in the mood to try something new.

How to order the McCrepe

If you roll up to your local McDonald’s drive-through and ask them for a McCrepe, you’ll probably get some confused faces and eye rolls on the other side of the speaker.  This secret menu item is more of a DIY treat, so don’t expect the worker to assemble your crepe in the kitchen. Instead, you will need to order all the ingredients separately and put this one together yourself. We’re all bored at home anyway, so why not try it out?

You’ll want to order:

  • As many pancakes as you want crepes
  • A yogurt parfait
  • Bacon strips (optional)
  • Anything else you’d like to fill your crepe with!

How to Assemble the McCrepe

Once you get your order, simply scoop out some of the parfait into each pancake and fold it in half. Top with syrup if you’d like. Be prepared for a messy, but delicious, breakfast.

McCrepe Price

If you just order hot cakes and a yogurt parfait, your total should come out to around $3.49, depending on your location. But if you add additional fillings like bacon, expect the price to be a bit higher.

Conclusion

So if you’re at that point where you’re starting to get tired of the usual McDonald’s menu, there’s no need to go someplace else. Just look at the usual things on the menu and get creative. Who knows, you just might be the person who discovers the next big thing on the McDonald’s secret menu!

You took away the salad during covid 19 and I understand why but for those of us who do not eat bread of any kind you need to consider an alternative. How about a double or Big Mac low carb. Which is the inside of a double or Big Mac with lettuce and tomato on each side. I would gladly order it.

I hate those skinny french fries. You need to go back to your regular fries. The ones you have now are dangerous. They are like eating tooth picks. Your regular hamburger patties are not much bigger than a Krystal/white castle patty. Such a shame. No quality just quantity
