If Using a Food Processor
- Place the water, sugar, salt, and olive oil in the bowl of the food processor and pulse to dissolve the sugar and salt. Add yeast, bread flour, all-purpose flour, and all of the other dry ingredients. Process until a soft ball forms. Remove the dough from the machine and allow it to rest covered with a tea towel for about 45 minutes.
If Using a Dough Hook and Mixer
- Place the water, sugar, salt, and olive oil in the bowl of the mixer and dissolve the sugar and salt. Stir in the yeast, bread flour, all-purpose flour, and all of the other dry ingredients. Knead with the dough hook to form a soft, but not-too sticky dough (about 8 minutes). Remove the dough from the machine and allow it to rest covered with a tea towel for about 45 minutes.
If Preparing by Hand
- Place the water, sugar, salt, and olive oil in a bowl and dissolve the sugar and salt. Stir in the yeast, all-purpose flour, and all of the other dry ingredients. Knead to form a soft, but not-too sticky dough (about 8-l0 minutes). Allow the dough to rest, covered with a tea towel for about 45 minutes.
Notes
- It may take longer than 10 minutes to knead the dough, especially if you're doing it by hand. The important thing to remember is that the semi-sticky consistency of the dough is what you're aiming for.
