Ingredients

  • 3 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp mint extract
  • 5 drops green food coloring
  • Whipped topping
  • Maraschino cherry

Method

  1. Add vanilla ice cream, heavy cream, mint extract, and food coloring into a blender. Mix for about 30 seconds or until the mixture is smooth and a solid green color.
  2. Pour the shake into a cup and top with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry.

Notes

  • McDonald's came out with a new spin on the Shamrock Shake this year - the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry! To replicate it, add crushed up Oreo cookies to your shake (it's the ultimate combo).
  • You can use peppermint extract as a substitute, but you'll notice a difference in flavor versus using mint extract.
  • If your Shamrock Shake is too water, you can add a ice cubes to it - a few it shouldn't dilute the flavor. If it's too thick, on the other hand, you can add a bit of milk.
  • Some people like to add chocolate syrup and sprinkles on top of the whipped cream. Have fun with it!
