Anyone would be hard pressed to disagree with that statement, especially those who visit Oregano’s. These three ingredients are as important as the fresh ones they put on their pizzas.
Mark S. Russell is at the heart of this local feel pizza bistro and he adds his soul to each branch. Not just his soul mind, as it was his father who inspired him to start Oregano’s.

It’s hard not to believe the former actor. Oregano’s served 22 guests when they first opened their Scottsdale, Arizona in 1993 and now that restaurant alone serves over 800 customers daily. Guests happily wait for hours before getting a table and yet, they still come back! It’s all because of Oregano’s ability to provide happiness and smiles with their excellent food and cozy atmosphere.
Mark was clearly a huge fan of the 1950’s as Oregano’s certainly mixes the high energy pizzeria with the family friendly diners of yesteryear, creating an atmosphere that is oh so familiar, yet uniquely theirs.
Not to mention the food, which is probably part of the reason you’re here. Pizza and pasta are the 5-star meals of the food show here, although their wings and sandwiches are a great addition. It was Mark’s mother who taught his father how to cook. She was horrified when Mark’s father started playing around with fresh ingredients and experimenting with new flavors. He must have eventually figured out the key to these combinations because he passed this creativity, along with his Grandmother’s family recipes to Mark, who decided to share this “delicious” knowledge with his community through Oregano’s.
