One of my favorite parts about ordering a meal at Subway is being able to eat Subway Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies after I finish my sub. These cookies are sweet, soft, thick, and perfectly delicious. I try to only let myself have one, but sometimes, I like to order a few for the rest of my family. Even better than that, I like to make them at home so we can snack on them whenever we want. This recipe is very simple and takes only about 20 minutes to prepare and bake. That’s faster than it takes to drive to the nearest Subway and back, and even though Subway’s cookies are fresh, homemade cookies are even fresher.
Subway Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies are made with Hershey’s Dark cocoa powder and both white chocolate and chocolate chip morsels. If you want your cookies to taste authentic to Subway’s version, there are a couple of things to keep in mind. Make sure the eggs are room temperature and beat them in a separate bowl before adding them to the mixture. Also make sure the butter softens at room temperature instead of heating it in a microwave. This will keep the cookies from spreading too thin in the oven.
Subway Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1 cup light brown sugar- packed
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup softened butter
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup Hershey's Dark baking cocoa
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 oz ounces semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 6 oz white chocolate chips
Instructions
- First, preheat the oven to 350°.
- Cream together the butter and sugar in a medium bowl. Then add the vanilla and one egg at a time. Beat on low with a mixer.
- In another bowl, sift together the flour, Hershey's cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Add the flour mixture into the butter mixture slowly, and beat it until it's well-blended. Add the chocolate chips and mix again.
- Spoon the cookie batter about 2 inches apart onto a cookie sheet. Bake for about 10-12 minutes. Allow them to cool for a couple of minutes and then serve warm.
Notes
- Be sure to not overcook the cookies because they'll be too crunchy.
- Make sure the butter is room temperature softened, not heated in the microwave so that the cookies don't spread out too thin while baking.
