Burger King is making their menu as inclusive as possible by adding the plant-based Impossible Whopper to the 2 for $6 list on their menu. Customers should take note that this promotion will only be effective for a limited time and at participating Burger King restaurants across the United States.
With the 2 for $6 deal, Burger King is giving its customers the option to select two sandwiches from a list of four for just six bucks. The restaurant has listed the four sandwiches customers can choose from, and these include:
- Impossible Whopper Sandwich
- Whopper Sandwich
- Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich
- Crispy Chicken Sandwich
The newly added Impossible Whopper includes a grilled plant-based patty, sliced tomatoes, onions, lettuce, pickles, and a spread of ketchup and mayonnaise on a sesame seed bun.
This fast-food chain of restaurants was the first to take up the initiative of going strictly plant-based, by making their patty from a soy-based meat substitute. Moreover, this was also made possible by a partnership between the start-up company Impossible Foods and Burger King. Before the Burger was released countrywide, Burger King carried out trials in a few states and it became a success.
Burger King’s plant-based patty is made with heme, which is a protein derived from soybean roots that has the appearance and feel of meat. Many health-conscious people have made the switch to a plant-based and/or vegan diet for health and environmental reasons. In fact, the fast-food industry at large has made major changes to improve its ecological footprint.
